Jonny Carberry live from The Menagerie, 2014

You can find friend of Never Never Jonny Carberry playing fine disco, soul and Balearic sounds in Bullitt every weekend. But here's something from a different time and place: a 2014 recording of Jonny warming up for Minimal Wave's Veronica Vasicka at the much-loved, much-missed Menagerie (kids, you'll have heard of it).

It's Jonny playing some of his favourite synth-wave, post-punk and electronic records, and it's a reminder of how broad and interesting the bookings were by Mark Manley and the guys at Belfast Music Club.

The white noise at the start is intentional, and you'll just have to imagine the glory of the Big ASS (trademark) sound-system. Shout to all the good nights we had there and to everyone doing their own thing in 2023.
